The returning GI's married and bought houses on the GI Bill, and created home workshops in their garages! The market for DIY was huge, with lots of pattern companies catering to their desire to create fun things for their home and families. The woodworking patterns are often charming and kitschy, and by using these old patterns, you can create your own vintage folk art! This vintage woodworking pattern is for a full-size hand painted stand-alone Christmas tree, for you to create and paint. The picture shows carolers and presents, but those are not included - they must have been different patterns! The pattern is complete and uncut with instructions, but no envelope. The tree stands 85 1/2 tall. The tree is SO charming, and would be great outdoors OR indoors! The tree can have "real" lights - just drill holes wherever you want a light to be. To stand, you can add a cross piece (or 3) on the back so it can free stand, or you can place it against a wall. It is really lovely and dates to the 1960's. The pattern was made by U-Bild in Van Nuys, the national headquarters for the Bild-It-Yourself Club. Payments required within four days, please.
