VTG Box THE SPARKLER 6' POM POM 54 Branches ALUMINUM XMAS TREE M-6614 STAR BAND

Here we have an authentic vintage 1960s mid-century modern "The Sparkler" long-needle aluminum pom-pom Christmas tree by Star Band Co. (Portsmouth, Virginia, USA,) distributed by Holiday House. Complete, with all original pieces, including the box. Everything is very fresh and clean, even the very ragged box, with no funky odors, and the aluminum frills are very bright and shiny. This model is officially 6' tall, but the actual height might be a bit less, depending on how wide you set the legs on the stand. The diameter is approximately 36 at its widest point. The two-piece, silver-painted wood pole set has 54 holes drilled in it, and there are 54 branches included. The stand is in excellent working order. In short, a very nice, clean, fresh, and complete, set that has never seen the inside of a mouse-infested barn, leaky attic, or moldy basement. Very clean and fresh set, with very bright and shiny branches, will arrive ready for assembly and use. No funky odors, nothing requiring cleaning up. No doubt the branches were perkier 75 years ago, but they still have a good deal of fluff, and they are brighter and shinier than the new ones being made today. The stand is a sturdier style than most, and is in excellent working order. The 2-piece wood pole attaches well and shows typical and expected wear to the paint. All of the branches are present, along with all of their original paper sleeves, in which they have been nicely stored all of these years. The aluminum frills on the steel branches have the typical breaks seen in all vintage aluminum trees and will benefit from some adjusting up and down on the branches for best appearance.

The yellowed areas in the photos that are visible on the branches are areas where the original tape, that was applied to the ends of all of the branches to ensure that the aluminum frills didn't slide off of them, has yellowed also typical and expected of all vintage aluminum trees, and you can replace with new, clear tape if desired. All of the original paper sleeves are included. We placed most of the branches back into their sleeves after disassembling the tree. There are a few with looser aluminum frills that we chose not to force into the sleeves, in order to avoid possibly damaging them. We consider funky odors (cigarette smoke, mildew, etc) to be an important part of a condition report.
