"Svetlusky" vintage lantern decoration, Christmas tree lights from Czechoslovakia. Measures: 23 x 6,5 cm.
Svetlusky first came to life in 1968 in Czechoslovakia when they were designed by Mr. He created first few sets for his family and friends. Later on production was taken over by company Napako, which produced the first 500 sets of these beautiful lanterns. After a year, the production was moved to Slovakia (Kovopodnik in town Topolcany). During this time, their name svetlusky was coined and by this name they are still vivid in the memories of many to this day. This special Christmas decoration was exported from Czechoslovakia to many countries including Germany, Russia, Sweden. Production stopped a few decades ago, but they are still very popular among people who remember them and many people look for them on the market.
Although the production was revived in a modern manner a few years ago due to the high demand, the lanterns made today are made with LED lights which makes them loose the appeal of glowing warm light. The one offered here was a set that was meant for export - it comes in a beautiful intact round metal box. This decoration consists of 10 beautiful lanterns glowing in different colors. Each lantern dimensions are 50 x 45mm. The whole package dimensions are 23x6,5 cm.
