Vintage Green Blue Holi-Gay Aluminum Christmas Tree 165 Branches 7ft Midcentury

Vintage Green Blue Teal Holi-Gay Aluminum Christmas Tree 165 Branches 7 ft Midcentury. Wonderful midcentury aluminum Christmas tree circa 1950s or 1960s! I believe this is a Holi-Gay tree -the metal foil tinsel on the branches is slightly heavier than the standard aluminum tree -not sure if it was a stainless aluminum tinsel, or aluminum mixed with steel? It also has the "flocking" on the metal tinsel. This is a large, full, aluminum tree with a LOT of branches. With the top branch in place it stands just under 7 feet tall (6 foot, 9 inches). There are a total of 165 branches altogether. When I had the tree fully assembled, I had 2 extra branches that I couldnt find a hole for. The aluminum / metal tinsel is a green with hints of blue that shimmer in the light so the overall effect is almost a teal color. The tree trunk is the original painted wooden pole with drilled holes for the branches that unscrews into two sections for storage.

One pole section has a bit of wire twisted around it where the pole has a tiny split in the wood. The majority of the branches are in decent vintage condition, but on quite a few of them, the aluminum coil is no longer adhered to the branch, so the coil can slip off and you have to run the metal branch back through the coiled aluminum when this happens.

Some branches are missing a bit of the aluminum coil, so metal shows through. The residue that you can see on the tinsel is the "flocking" that the Holi-Gay trees came with. The tree branches are shedding aluminum a bit.

The tree comes with a tree pole stand, though it is not one of the metal tripods you usually see with vintage aluminum trees. At some point, someone must have replaced the stand with a slightly more modern stand.
