I bought this vintage tinsel tree from a Michigan basement at an estate sale in the mid 1990s. I bought it in the original box, but along the way of my maturing. It was a happy, 1950s type packaging, and I suspect shiny bright. Anyways, the tree is just gorgeous.
I'm in a new home and we just can't use this tree, so I'm offering up to someone who will appreciate the gravity of owning a small piece of Americana Christmas heritage. The tree consists of an adjustable aluminum tripod base, two wooden dowels with tinsel covering, and 101 tinsel limbs.
There are a few missing branches, but not noticeable at the bottom. There are 5 branches with some patina on them, the rest are just super shiny.
The dowels show minor wear after having sharp branches scraping against them over several decades. A real piece of American history.
