17 Vintage/Antique Spun Cotton Mica Fruit Ornaments For Feather Christmas Tree

Offering a wonderful collection of 17 VINTAGE / ANTIQUE Spun Cotton and Mica Fruit Feather Christmas Tree Ornaments. Cotton ornaments were extensively used in the early 1900's (1900 to 1910), including fruits and vegetables. They were often wire wrapped and more softly tinted than those produced in the next decades. This set of ornaments as a whole is in wonderful clean condition.

There is a variety of shapes. Some are more softly wrapped, others have a harder outer coating with a fine mica coating and are painted more brightly (indicating that they were probably made later than others 1910 and later). One is a wire wrapped batch of 2 cherries.

I have included a ruler in the pictures so you can judge the sizes. It is rare to find such a large group of these old very collectible ornaments at one time.

Please examine all photos as they are as important to the description of this item as the words that are written about the item. Supersize them while you are examining the photos. Please remember that vintage ornaments are usually from 40 to 80 years old. All have been used and are thus probably not going to be in perfect condition. All are subject to some surface scratches, flaking to the paint, crazing of paint, age spots, oxidation, silvering loss, nicks around or under caps, may have tarnish / discoloration to metal caps, and some may not have the original caps.

These are all signs of age commonly called age patina. This prevents anyone else from purchasing your items and sends a request to me for a revised invoice. Payments must be received within 3 days. They may have paint loss, glitter loss, mica loss, dents, bumps, scratches. They have usually all been used in the past and thus have the patina of age and use.

As with all my auctions there plenty of pictures for judging coloring and condition - remember to supersize them for your best view they are part of the description. Because they are items from bygone days, I cannot guarantee that they are from a smoke free or pet free environment. Every effort has been made to describe the item as accurately as possible. We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as gifts - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.
