12 vintage CHRISTMAS TREE TWINKLER spinning ornament IN BOX birdcage carousel

These are also known as birdcage, carousel, or spinner ornaments. If the ornaments are hung above the large old-fashioned Christmas bulbs, the heat makes the inside thin metal propellers spin around. While I have not tested them, there is no reason to believe they wouldnt perform well.

They are made of plastic with glitter embedded in them. NO metal ornament hangers are attached. Included are four of each color: blue, pink, and what looks like yellow (but sometimes looks greenish).

Manufactured by Tinkle Toy Company, Youngstown, Ohio. There is the original Bartells Drug Store price tag affixed to the box with a price of 29 cents each. Please read this description and review the close-up photos carefully.

I dont see any cracks or chips on these ornaments. Some of the propellers inside the ornaments are a bit misshapen but not terribly so. Many of the ornaments have a roughness right on the edge of one or two scallops or petals around the outside edges of the ornament. Not sure if this was a manufacturing flaw, from being tightly stored in the box, very minor melting due to heat, or some other cause. But I don't really think it is due to heat contact though since the scallop is not misshapen in any way (just rough right on the scallop edge).

Some of the ornaments have wear around the hole where one would attach a metal hanger but I dont see any that are cracked through. Some of the ornaments have occasional white spotting (on the propeller or the clear "window") which appears to be from being hung on a flocked Christmas tree. I removed a little bit, but didnt go any further with cleaning because the thin propellers are so delicate.

Ill leave that up to the new owner. One of the ornaments has a couple of spots of wear (or something) in the window area (which you can see in the sixth photo above). Ornaments have dust in hard-to-reach places. Box has edge and corner wear plus some surface soil/scuffing.

Inside of box has soil and brown spotting plus a few small holes poked into the bottom. Price tag is faint and soiled. NO writing on the box.

NO weird or musty odors. While these ornaments are not absolutely perfect, they are sure to be appreciated by someone who remembers them fondly from his or her childhood. As always, feel free to send me a message if you have any questions.
