Get Vendio Gallery - Now FREE! These bulbs are WWII bulbs made by General Electric in 1940 or 1941 - the beginning of WWII for the US. I determined their age by the patent date on the box, which dates them to the end of 1940. In the 1940's, during WWII, everything was patriotic - Christmas tree decorations, home decorations, clothing, and more! The war gave rise to an intense wave of patriotism, and folks at home showed it by wearing and decorating with our flag colors.

These Christmas tree bulbs are all red and blue. The 2 boxes originally held 20 bulbs - 10 in each box; only 13 of them worked, so I discarded the non-working bulbs. The bulbs all work and display really well. There is an occasional light scratch or wear mark to the paint, but nothing at all significant. The paint has slightly oxidized - it is a flat color, not a shiny one.

I don't believe the paint was ever really shiny, just maybe a bit shinier than it is now! They are the C7 size - the medium size for Christmas lights. Payments required within four days, please.
