This rare tabletop Christmas tree is from the 1940's or early 1950's. It is made of a type of plastic material with a thin cardboard top.The bottom has a metal ring on the inside which gives it stability. Most of the ornaments fold out to let the light shine through. The light comes from a 10 watt yellow Penetray light bulb that is on a metal base. A metal piece extends from the base and goes into the top of the tree.
The tree rests gently on the pointed extension. The very colorful tree has candy canes, rocking horses, teddy bears, jack-in-the- boxes, dolls, toy guns, a train and more! The cone shaped tree measures 16 1/2" tall and 9 3/4" diameter at the bottom of the cone.
What I can read of the label on the base is Cat. 95 Designed for indoor use with 60 W lamp only L. There are some condition issues as the tree has some splits in the plastic and some light dents. There have been some repairs with tape. The gold cardboard top has also been repaired. It takes a little effort to get the point into the top exactly right, and the slightest breeze or movement will make it spin. I don't know if it supposed to spin? In spite of the condition issues, this is still a great old Christmas decoration! Antique holiday season seasonal décor toy spinner light up table top celluloid.
